The Platinum suite, 360’s flagship family of workstation security and internet convenience products, has been migrated to the SchlumbergerSema Cryptoflex* PKI-enabled smart card and the Cyberflex* range of Java™ based smart cards. The Platinum suite uses smart card tokens for two-factor authentication, and is sold to PC OEMs, enabling the manufacturers to ship a complete security solution with smart card readers to their customers. These applications ensure the user’s privacy by storing their data on the card, so personal information and credit card numbers can never be sold or shared. Stored credentials are used to logon to the computer, to logon to membership web-sites and to automatically fill web-forms. Outlook synchronization enables the user to carry his contacts stored on the smart card. A kit of the software with the cards is available immediately at the SchlumbergerSema smart card marketplace: http://www.scmegastore.com.
Products from 360 that specifically address the enterprise and Internet security needs are: PlatinumPAS™ (Pre-boot Authentication in the BIOS) for security during power up, PlatinumSecure™ (User Authentication at Windows login) for secure logon, data security, file encryption/decryption, and access controls on all Windows OS, and PlatinumKey™ (a smart card-driven Web Authentication and Auto Form Fill-In application) that enables secure authentication at web-sites by eliminating the need to memorize user names and passwords.
‘360 Degree Web is a pioneer in developing application software to secure access to computer workstations, using a smart card to authenticate the user,’ said Paul Beverly, vice president Smart Cards and eTransactions for SchlumbergerSema North America. ‘With their established success in the PC industry, SchlumbergerSema looks forward to using 360’s security, convenience and enterprise token management software with our smart cards to deliver cost-effective implementations to our vast worldwide customer base.’
‘We are very pleased that SchlumbergerSema has selected our software application to use with their state-of-the-art Cryptoflex and Cyberflex smart cards, validating the robustness of our software, proven through years of production use with PC notebooks,’ said Vivienne Li, COO of 360 Degree Web. ‘We plan to extend our current and future products to work with a wider range of smart cards from SchlumbergerSema as we take our products to market to solve the problems of controlled, secure logical access to workstations, web-sites and enterprise networks.’
